Cyber Defence
With our increasing dependency on information and communication technologies, we are exposed to growing and diverse risks derived from the use of such technologies. Malicious activities originating from both, state and non-state actors, aimed at, and carried out via these technologies, have become an integral part of the Cyberspace. This fact has been noted by NATO, which has recognized the Cyberspace to be a part of collective defence, as well as a new domain of operations, placing it alongside to the domain of land, air, sea, and space. In accordance with the national strategic documents and policies, as well as NATO and EU initiatives, the issue of safe and secure Cyberspace has become one of the top priorities for the Slovak Republic. The Cyberspace is characterized by its interconnectivity, lack of borders, and diminished distances among existing threats and potential victims. Conventional approach to protection of isolated information and communication systems proved to be insufficient and there is a need for a comprehensive protection and defence of the Cyberspace at national and international level.

Organisational Structure of Military Intelligence
The Cyber Defence Center of the Slovak Republic is a special department under the Military Intelligence, which fulfils the tasks of Cyber Defence of the Slovak Republic, as well as Cyber Security of information and communication infrastructure of the Ministry of Defence of the Slovak Republic, the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic, as well as subordinated organizations to the Ministry.
The Center collects, aggregates, analyses, and evaluates information important for the Cyber Defence, informs affected parties about current threats and suggests appropriate measures. The integral part of the Cyber Defence Center of the Slovak Republic is also the Military Computer Security Response Team - CSIRT.MIL.SK.
